Spring’s must-have pie & ice cream pairings

For Pi Day 2017, expert pie-maker Marie Callender’s® partnered with 10Below Ice Cream in New York City—famous for their rolled ice cream—to create an over-the-top pie-infused ice cream creation, pictured above.

Every great pie has to have a flaky crust – a crust that crumbles the moment your fork dives in. And with every great pie comes a great (we recommend big) scoop of ice cream.

With this in mind, we asked 10Below Ice Cream for their thoughts on the best and most surprising pairings for ice cream and pies, so that everyone can have a sweeter spring. Here’s the line-up …

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pie + English Breakfast Tea Ice Cream

You’ve heard of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream, but Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pie? It’s here! Marie’s newest pie has a rich and creamy vanilla filling with chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough, a flaky pie crust and a creamy whipped topping complete with chocolate chips. The perfect pairing for this pie? Tea-flavored ice cream. If you are in New York City, try 10Below’s famous English Breakfast Tea ice cream, the featured ice cream variety in Marie Callender’s signature Pi Day dessert mash-up.

Turtle Pie + Coffee Ice Cream

No one can deny coffee and chocolate’s mutual decadence. But why simply drink a mocha frappé when you can savor the full dessert version? Start with Turtle Pie. The silky chocolate filling, pecan-caramel toppings and cookie crust are all begging for a scoop of coffee ice cream.

Pumpkin Pecan Streusel + Sweet and Salty Caramel Ice Cream

A mash-up of three greats: Pumpkin Pie + Pecan Topping + Streusel Topping. Our Pumpkin Pecan Streusel is brimming with real pumpkin blended with just the right spices and finished with a crunchy brown sugar streusel with toasted pecans. Top it off by adding crunchy pretzels and caramel ice cream.
